NORFOLK, Va. (AP) -- Virginia Wesleyan College has received a $5 million challenge gift for construction of a new arts building.

The donation from the Goode family kicks off a fundraising campaign for the project.

Virginia Wesleyan President William T. Greer says in a news release that the school is determined to match the gift over the next three years.

The new building will house classrooms, a theater, concert and lecture hall, studios and rehearsal spaces.
