RICHMOND, Va. (AP) -- More than 60 police officers will be pedaling through the Richmond area en route to a Washington memorial to honor law enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty.
The bike-riding law officers will be traveling along Route 1 Monday for the bike ride to the nation's capital.
Known as Bike for the Blue, the riders will roll out from the Capitol in Richmond at 6 a.m to begin their trek.
Now in its 18th year, Bike for the Blue takes the riders on a 117-mile trek to Washington to meet their colleagues from across the country for the Law Enforcement Memorial ceremony.
Richmond police will be remembering their 29 fellow officers who have died in the line of duty.
