Group behind video rallies outside D.C. abortion doctor’s office

WASHINGTON – As a jury weighs murder charges against a Philadelphia doctor, an anti-abortion rights group rallied to draw attention to an abortion doctor here in the District.

This week, the Arlington, Va.-based Live Action released a hidden-camera video of a pregnant woman consulting with Dr. Cesare Santangelo. In the video, he says if a baby lives through a failed abortion, its survival depends on how “vigorously” it’s taken care of.

The comments sparked the rally in front of Santangelo’s office at the Washington Surgi-Clinic in Foggy Bottom Wednesday.

“We will not go away until Santangelo is investigated and prosecuted,” said Lila Rose, the founder of Live Action.

Rose also said she was in talks with the management of the building and hoped the doctor would be evicted.
