WAKEFIELD, Va. -- Republican Ken Cuccinelli has dismissed his absent Democratic foe in this year's governor's race as a Virginia outsider and Washington insider before one of the smallest crowds ever for Virginia's pre-eminent political picnic near Wakefield.
Cuccinelli flayed former Democratic National Committee chief Terry McAuliffe over operations his electric-car start-up, Greentech Automotive, began in Mississippi, not Virginia.
Cuccinelli was the only candidate to speak Wednesday at the 65-year-old annual event founded by Democrats that has been all- Republican two years in a row.
