Body found in D.C. river identified as Iraq veteran

WASHINGTON – A body found in the Anacostia River has been identified as an Iraq war veteran from Prince George’s County.

The Washington Post (http://wapo.st/10vnYBS ) reports the body of Arlester Jay was found Monday. Jay’s family reported him missing in March. His father, Ernest Jay Jr. says his son was addicted to drugs and alcohol and diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder.

Earnest Jay also told the paper he believes his son, who was 36, was murdered. Police detectives are waiting for the results of an autopsy that will determine how Jay died, but homicide officials are involved in the case.

Jay’s family reported him missing after his sister went to her brother’s apartment to help his estranged girlfriend move out. Jay was not there and his car was gone. — Information from: The Washington Post, http://www.washingtonpost.com
