PASADENA, Md. (AP) -- Anne Arundel County rescue crews were called out to rescue a teenage boy who got stuck up to his waist in mud on county property in Pasadena.
Authorities say it took nearly an hour to pull the 15-year-old boy from the mud on Friday afternoon. The boy was taken to Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore with serious but not life-threatening injuries.
Anne Arundel fire department Division Chief Keith Swindle says the boy was being treated for hypothermia and injuries caused by mud compressing against his body.
Fire officials said it was a dangerous situation. Rescuers laid down sheets of wood to reach the boy sinking in the mud.
