Prosecutor to discuss disabled man's death in Md.

Friday - 3/22/2013, 11:49am  ET

FREDERICK, Md. (AP) -- The Frederick County state's attorney is holding a news conference regarding the January death in custody of a Frederick man with Down syndrome.

State's Attorney J. Charles Smith announced tentative plans to answer questions about the investigation at the Frederick County Courthouse at 3 p.m. Friday.

The announcement comes on a day that the Frederick County grand jury routinely meets. Smith isn't saying whether his office is presenting evidence about the case to the grand jury.

Twenty-six-year-old Robert Ethan Saylor of New Market suffocated to death Jan. 12 at the Westview Stadium 16 cinema. The Frederick County Sheriff's Office says three deputies, moonlighting as security officers, were trying to forcibly remove him from the theatre after he refused to leave and became disruptive.
