FREDERICK, Md. (AP) -- Maryland State Police say a man charged with murder in the death of a man whose body was found in the trunk of his car has been arrested at a New York airport.
Fifty-one-year-old Michael Stahlnecker of Crofton was arrested about 6 a.m. Tuesday at JFK International Airport. He is charged in a warrant with first- and second-degree murder in the shooting death of 37-year-old John P. Ryan of Frederick.
Ryan's body was found in the trunk of his car on Dec. 3 in a Montgomery County parking lot.
Troopers believe Ryan was shot at a warehouse Stahlnecker owned in Laurel and his body driven in his car to where it was found.
Stahlnecker is being held in New York pending extradition proceedings.
