RICHMOND, Va. - Virginia's interactive Civil War history museum is parking at the Capitol this week and it's open to visitors.
The Virginia Civil War 150 HistoryMobile will be parked between the General Assembly Building and the statehouse starting Monday. It will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Friday.
The HistoryMobile has traveled many miles before making its weeklong stop in Richmond. It has welcomed more than 60,000 visitors at fairs, parks and schools.
The history lesson on wheels uses digital tools, exhibits and hands-on materials to tell the story of the Civil War through the eyes of soldiers, civilians, the enslaved and free citizens. A tour takes about 20 minutes.
