ROANOKE, Va. (AP) - The Hotel Roanoke's staff knows people are watching the hotel's RailCam. But they didn't know how wide its audience is until it stopped working.
Michael Quonce tells WSLS-TV that the hotel received at least a dozen calls and emails a day from around the world asking about the RailCam after it recently went down.
The camera offers views Norfolk Southern's tracks, Roanoke's downtown skyline and Mill Mountain.
Quonce says traffic to the RailCam's website showed people were watching. But the hotel's staff had no idea that the audience was worldwide.
