GLEN BURNIE, Md. (AP) - Anne Arundel County police have arrested a man after a woman who said she was raped and stabbed escaped during a stop at a grocery store.
Thirty-seven-year-old Shane Lee Miller of Glen Burnie is charged with rape, assault, false imprisonment and robbery. He is being held without bond.
Miller is charged with six counts of first-degree rape, first-degree sex offense, assault, false imprisonment and robbery.
Police were called to the Food Lion on Crain Highway North about 11:45 a.m. Monday. The Capital of Annapolis reports ( http://bit.ly/VuORaL) that a woman told authorities she had been stabbed and raped and taken to the store.
Police say she was able to alert the store's staff to call 911.
Officers say Miller and the woman know each other through the woman's job. She was treated and released at a local hospital.
