Md. police stepping up patrols for holiday period

HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) - Maryland State Police say there will be more officers on the streets through the holiday period.
The agency says state and local police agencies began the stepped-up enforcement Thursday. The operation will continue daily through Jan. 2.
Police say they're focusing specifically on aggressive, drunk and drugged drivers.
