DAHLGREN, Va. - King George County residents will have to go somewhere else to watch July 4 fireworks next year.
The Board of Supervisors has canceled the county's annual fireworks display at the Navy base in Dahlgren.
The Free Lance-Star ( http://bit.ly/UxRcBl) reports that the base can't support the display in 2013 because of uncertainty in military funding. The base provided parking, entertainment and security and the county paid for the fireworks.
Supervisors decided last week to cancel next year's fireworks display. They plan to create a list of regional celebrations that residents could attend.
