WASHINGTON - The MARC commuter rail service will not operate on what would normally be the first day of the work week because of the incoming hurricane.
MARC says its managers consulted with Amtrak and CSX Transportation officials. They decided that while it might have been possible to operate service normally on Monday morning, deteriorating weather conditions would have had a significant impact on the afternoon commute.
The MTA Commuter Bus also will not operate on Monday.
MARC says it will make a decision about Tuesday service no later than 8 p.m. Monday.
