JV football player in Va. dies after practice

CHESAPEAKE, Va. - A Chesapeake high school canceled a junior varsity football game due to the death of a player following a practice.
Chesapeake police tell media outlets that 14-year-old Oscar Smith High School sophomore Jhevontae Davis suffered a medical emergency during the practice on Wednesday. He was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Police didn't provide details.
Oscar Smith canceled a junior varsity game against Deep Creek that was scheduled for Thursday.
