EDGEWOOD, Md. (AP) - A $5 million upgrade to the MARC train station in Edgewood is nearly complete, and U.S. Rep. C.A. Dutch Ruppersberger will be there to show off the improvements.
The stop is being converted from a basic platform into a station with bathrooms, ticket machines and ramps for disabled riders. It's expected to see a spike in traffic because of military base realignment, which is bringing jobs to nearby Aberdeen Proving Ground.
Ruppersberger, a Democrat, will visit the station Tuesday to talk about the renovations, which were paid for with federal transportation funds.
