GREENWOOD, Va. (AP) - A 78-acre estate near Charlottesville dating back to 1895 has been sold at auction.
Concierge Auctions says the property called Ramsay was sold Thursday to a buyer from Virginia. The sale price will be made public within 30 days.
The property listed as a Virginia Historic Landmark and on the National Register of Historic Places was originally offered for sale for $7.5 million.
Ramsay consists of a 5,300-square-foot, two-story main house, a two-story, 2,300-square-foot guest cottage, as well as a two-story farm house, a potting shed and a barn.
The previous owner had said it is time for a new chapter for the property with views of the Blue Ridge Mountains and that Ramsay was underused.
