Wednesday - 9/5/2012, 1:04pm  ET

BALTIMORE - Baltimore plans to celebrate the Olympic achievements of Michael Phelps and other Marylanders in the Inner Harbor.

The governor's office says the event will be held Monday afternoon at Baltimore's Inner Harbor Amphitheater. Phelps and Maryland Olympians and Paralympians will attend the event, along with Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, Gov. Martin O'Malley and Baltimore County Executive Kevin Kamenetz.

Phelps ended his Olympic career in London with a record 22 medals overall, including six won in London. That's the most medals won by any athlete at this summer's games.

After the 2008 games, Phelps was welcomed home with a parade in Towson and fireworks at Fort McHenry. The city also staged a parade for Phelps after the 2004 games.
