WASHINGTON – Two big theme parks in the area are holding auditions for their Halloween spook fests. Do you think you have what it takes to be scary?

Kings Dominion is hosting Halloween Haunt auditions Saturday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. There are also auditions on Aug. 25 and Sept. 1.

The park says interested people should apply online for one of the 607 jobs first, then go to one of the interviews, which they call “scream tests.”

As part of the audition, applicants get a picture of a creature they are asked to portray. Then, they’re asked to make some kind of scary noise.

For those who are a little self-conscious, there are supervisor jobs like technicians and ushers that do not involve turning into a monster.

Monday and Tuesday, Six Flags America is hosting auditions for its FrightFest event in Prince George’s County.

Those auditions will be held at the park from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday is for anyone interested in being a ghoul or a monster, while Tuesday is for interested ghouls and monsters plus dancers and actors.

Six Flags says interested people should get there at least half an hour early, dressed in comfortable clothes. Applicants must be at least 16 years old.

Both Six Flags America and Kings Dominion are scheduled to start their Halloween events the last weekend in September.
