WASHINGTON – D.C. police are confident that one man is responsible for three suspicious incidents this month in Northwest D.C.
The three incidents that appear to be linked began Monday when police received a complaint about a resident of the Mount Pleasant neighborhood allegedly possessing child pornography, according to a police press release.
Tuesday, a naked man was reported to have made overtures to three kids in the swimming pool locker room at a high school in Northwest.
Peter Newsham, assistant police chief, confirmed the incidents in a press conference Friday.
Wednesday, police say, a boy told officers he was walking in the 4800 block of 36th Street Northwest when a man followed him in a vehicle and repeatedly offered him a ride. The vehicle was described as a blue, four-door Chevrolet.
No charges have been filed in these cases, but Newsham says a man was recently arrested in that area on an unrelated warrant.
A separate event in April could be related to the above three incidents, according to police. On April 27, police received complaints that flyers offering tutoring services for boys were being distributed in the American University Park neighborhood, according to a press release.
There is no immediate danger to any other children, according to police.
