BALTIMORE - The owners of a Baltimore County farm are seeking to raise money to build a smartphone app that would keep customers informed of their weekly harvest.
The Baltimore Sun ( http://tinyurl.com/cykc3yw) reports that Joan and Drew Norman, owners of One Straw Farm, have launched an online campaign to raise $30,000 for the design and development of that app, as well as another that would help them with mobile record-keeping.
As of Tuesday morning, their campaign had raised more than $5,800.
One Straw Farm has been a pioneer in Maryland of community-supported agriculture, in which farmers sell directly to consumers. The Normans own 82 acres of land and farm an additional 90 acres owned by others.
