VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani told veterans in Virginia Beach that President Barack Obama wants to eliminate jobs in Virginia through defense spending cuts.
Giuliani headlined a rally Thursday for Republican Mitt Romney at a Veterans of Foreign Wars post near Naval Air Station Oceana, one of the largest employers in Hampton Roads. Giuliani also said the U.S. needs to outspend China out of the thought they can catch up to the U.S. militarily.
Giuliani's visit comes a day before President Barack Obama makes campaign stops in Virginia Beach, Hampton and Roanoke. On Friday Giuliani will appear at a Henrico County event. Obama will also make other stops in Virginia on Saturday. Obama kicked off his re-election campaign in Richmond in May.
