Drivers advised of closures in advance of D.C. race

WASHINGTON - Motorists driving in Washington are being advised of road closures in advance of the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network's Purple Stride 5k walk and run.

The Metropolitan Police Department says that street closures will begin at 3 a.m. Saturday and last until 1 p.m. The race starts at the intersection of Pennsylvania Avenue and 13th Street, goes down Pennsylvania Avenue, Third Street and Independence Avenue before circling back.

The race itself will last from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.
