NORFOLK, Va. - A social media website plans to turn over the records of four accounts sought by Norfolk police seeking information on the assault of two newspaper reporters last month.

The Virginian-Pilot ( reports police had issued search warrants requesting posts and personal information from the Twitter accounts, including the users' location and email addresses. The warrants note Twitter has complied with the request.

Police say two Virginian-Pilot reporters were in a car at an intersection on April 14 when a pedestrian threw a rock at the vehicle's window. The driver got out and was attacked by several people. Both of the reporters suffered minor injuries.

Detectives say several Twitter postings afterward mentioned the incident.

A 16-year-old boy was arrested on several charges in the case last week.
