DANVILLE, Va. - Chinese furniture assembler GOK International is planning to establish operations in the Danville area that are expected to create 300 manufacturing jobs.
The company plans to invest $12.5 million to open an assembly and showcase operation at Cane Creek Centre in Ringgold and a sales and headquarters office in Danville.
Media outlets say Danville and Pittsylvania County economic development officials announced GOK's plans Tuesday.
Danville economic development director Jeremy Stratton says GOK expects to employ 150 workers by the end of 2013 and another 150 by the end of 2015.
`The Virginia Tobacco Commission is providing a $1 million grant to the company as an incentive to locate its operations in the area.
