Retired WFLS icon Brian Strobel killed by vehicle

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. - Longtime WFLS radio personality Brian Strobel has died after he was hit by a pickup truck.

The accident occurred at about 5 p.m. Wednesday in a subdivision off Harrison Road in Spotsylvania County.

The Spotsylvania County Sheriff's Office says the 65-year-old Strobel was walking his dog when a pickup truck ran off the road and struck him.

The investigation is continuing.

The Free Lance-Star says ( http://bit.ly/y3PThN) Strobel retired from WFLS at the end of 2007 after 30 years with the Fredericksburg station. He worked a total 40 years in radio.
