TRIANGLE, Va. (AP) - The National Museum of the Marine Corps plans to hold a weekend event at which experts can help families learn more about their military-related antiques.
Museum officials say Saturday's event at the museum in Prince William County will feature curators and historians assessing the origins of visitors' artifacts and how they were used. They also can give advice on the best ways to preserve and protect old items, but won't give appraisals of their value.
The museum highlights the history of the Marine Corps. It opened in 2006.
