ROANOKE, Va. - Appalachian Power says it could take several days to restore electricity to some customers in Virginia who lost power during a winter storm.
The company's website lists about 5,500 outages as of Tuesday afternoon, including 1,017 in Giles County.
There also are outages in Bland, Buchanan, Dickenson, Montgomery, Roanoke, Tazewell and Wythe counties, and the city of Roanoke.
Sunday's storm dumped several inches of snow across the region.
