CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - An Albemarle County police officer whose cruiser hit a jogger has been charged with failure to yield the right of way.

Sgt. Darrell Byers tells The Daily Progress ( http://bit.ly/zZqGHe) that 35-year-old Officer Caroline Ann Morris also faces an administrative review.

Byers says Morris' cruiser hit the jogger on Jan. 13 as she was making a right turn at an intersection.

The jogger was treated at a local hospital for minor injuries.

Morris has been with the department since 2001.
