MANASSAS, Va. - A northern Virginia man who used drywall to barricade his three young daughters into a room has been sentenced to three years of probation.
Prince William prosecutor Kristina Robinson says 35-year-old John Robey of Bristow was also ordered Thursday to complete an intensive outpatient drug program. Robinson says Judge Richard Potter sentenced Robey to nine years in prison but suspended his prison term.
In October, Robey and 26-year-old Christina Moore each pleaded guilty to three counts of child abuse and neglect.
On March 26, authorities found that the couple's three daughters, including an 18-month-old, had been left alone in room barricaded with drywall. The oldest girl used mattresses to climb over the drywall and got a neighbor to help her sisters.
Moore is scheduled to be sentenced May 3.
