Man indicted in hit-and-run of 2 JHU students

Saturday - 6/25/2011, 12:46pm  ET

BALTIMORE (AP) - Baltimore prosecutors have charged a man in a hit-and-run accident that injured two students at Johns Hopkins University last month.

Thomas D. Green was taken into custody Friday following his indictment earlier this month in the May 7 collision.

Officials say he was drinking before the crash and had to be chased down by police after leaving the scene.

The 37-year-old Green, of Gwynn Oak, has been charged with negligent and reckless driving, causing life-threatening injuries while impaired by alcohol, and other offenses.

The students, Benjamin Zucker and Rachel Cohen, survived. Hopkins spokeswoman Tracey Reeves tells The Baltimore Sun that the students completed their spring semester and will return to school in August.
