Pacers fill holes as they wait on Stephenson

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Indiana signed free agents Lavoy Allen, C.J. Miles and Damjan Rudez on Friday as the Pacers await a decision from Lance Stephenson about his future.

Indiana acquired Allen in a trade deadline move from Philadelphia earlier this year. The 6-foot-9 forward played sparingly after joining the Pacers, but team President Larry Bird and coach Frank Vogel were convinced he could help the two-time Eastern Conference runner-ups reach the NBA Finals for the first time since 2000.

Miles spent the past two seasons with Cleveland where he averaged 10.6 pints and 2.4 rebounds. The 6-foot-6, 210-pound swingman gives Indiana more scoring punch and a possible replacement if Stephenson signs with another team.

Rudez is a 6-10, 210-pound shooting forward from Croatia.

Vogel said Friday that he’s hopeful Stephenson stays.
