Irish win Pinstripe Bowl...No. 15 UConn improves to 11-1...Bruins lose Seidenberg

NEW YORK (AP) -- Kyle Brindza booted three second half field goals and Tarean Folston ran for a touchdown to help No. 25 Notre Dame break out of a halftime tie to beat Rutgers 29-16 in the Pinstripe Bowl. Brindza kicked five field goals overall and Tommy Rees threw for 319 yards in his final game for the 9-4 Fighting Irish.

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (AP) -- Shabazz Napier had 15 points and nine assists to lead No. 15 Connecticut to an 82-65 win over Eastern Washington. Napier was one of five players in double figures for the 11-1 Huskies.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -- Michael Dixon scored 14 points and Shaq Goodwin had 13 points and seven rebounds to pace No. 17 Memphis over Jackson State 75-61. The Tigers wire-to-wire win was their eighth in nine games and upped their record to 9-2.

BOSTON (AP) -- Boston Bruins defenseman Dennis Seidenberg will miss the rest of the season because of torn knee ligaments. Seidenberg tore his anterior cruciate ligament and medial collateral ligament in his right knee during last night's win over Ottawa.

MALMO, Sweden (AP) -- Matt Grzelyck, Jack Eichel and Ryan Hartman each had a goal and an assist leading the defending champion United States to a 6-3 victory over Slovakia at the world junior hockey tournament. The defending champ Americans improved to 2-0 in Group A play.
