COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) -- Top-ranked Indiana rebounded from Thursday's loss to unranked Illinois by beating No. 10 Ohio State 81-68 this afternoon in Columbus. The Hoosiers improve to 9-3 in Big Ten play and are tied for the conference lead with idle Michigan State.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) -- Ninth-ranked Syracuse has its third-leading scorer and top 3-point shooter back in uniform for today's home game with St. John's. Senior forward James Southerland has been cleared to resume playing after sitting out six games because of an eligibility issue involving academics.

NEW YORK (AP) -- The Los Angeles Clippers beat the New York Knicks 102-88 today in the Big Apple. Jamal Crawford led the winners with 27 points and teammate Chris Paul had 25 in his second game back from injury. Carmelo Anthony threw in 42 points in a losing effort.

DETROIT (AP) -- The Detroit Red Wings slipped past the visiting Los Angeles Kings 3-2 this afternoon in the Motor City. Jonathan Ericsson netted the game winner with 4.5 seconds left in regulation.

DETROIT (AP) -- After being cleared to resume playing, Joey MacDonald has been placed on waivers by the Detroit Red Wings, who plan to ship the veteran goalie to the minors if he is not claimed by noon Eastern time Monday. MacDonald had been nursing a back injury.
