NEW YORK (AP) -- Largest fines the NFL has handed out to players for on-field conduct (year in parentheses refers to season):

Lions DT Ndamukong Suh, $100,000, illegal low block (2013).

Bears LB Bryan Cox, $87,500, obscene gesture to a line judge and screaming obscenities (1996)

Steelers LB James Harrison, $75,000 (later reduced to $50,000), flagrant hit (2010)

Raiders DT Warren Sapp, $75,000, for physical and verbal actions toward game officials (2007)

Broncos S John Lynch, $75,000, helmet-to-helmet hit (2005)

Jaguars S Donovin Darius, $75,000 (later reduced to $20,000), clothes-line tackle (2004)

Cowboys S Darren Woodson, $75,000, flagrant hit (2002)

Ravens S Ed Reed, $55,000, hit to the head and neck area (2012-second)

Broncos G Dan Neil, $52,941 (one game's pay), two leg whips (2001)

Ravens S Ed Reed, $50,000, helmet-to-helmet hit (2012)

Broncos LB Joe Mays, $50,000, helmet-to-helmet hit (2012)

Falcons CB Dunta Robinson, $50,000 (later reduced to $25,000), flagrant hit (2010)

Patriots S Brandon Meriweather, $50,000 (later reduced to $40,000), flagrant hit (2010)

Eagles LB Ernie Sims, $50,000, flagrant hit (2010)

Redskins G Tre Johnson, $50,000, striking official and fighting (1999)

Lions S Mark Carrier, $50,000, flagrant hit (1999)

Raiders G Steve Wisniewski, $50,000, unnecessary roughness and bumping an official (1996)

Note: Lions DT Ndamukong Suh was suspended two games without pay for stepping on the right arm of Packers OL Evan Dietrich-Smith (2011). Steelers LB James Harrison was suspended one game without pay for his helmet-to-facemask hit on Browns QB Colt McCoy (2011).
