BALTIMORE (AP) -- The Super Bowl champion Baltimore Ravens will begin the 2013 NFL season with a playoff rematch against the Denver Broncos.
Baltimore will play at home against AFC North rival Pittsburgh on Thanksgiving and host the New England Patriots, who lost to the Ravens in the AFC title game, on Sunday night, Dec. 22.
The reigning NFL champion usually opens at home, but the Ravens were unable to reach a schedule agreement with baseball's Orioles and so were forced to play on the road. The Sept. 5 matchup against the Broncos is particularly interesting because Baltimore beat top-seeded Denver in the postseason and Broncos standout linebacker Elvis Dumervile signed as a free agent with the Ravens during the offseason.
After playing Denver, the Ravens open its home schedule against Cleveland.
