ASHBURN, Va. -- The Washington Redskins need someone to return punts.

Richard Crawford is done for the year with three damaged ligaments in his left knee, and there's no obvious replacement on the roster.

Santana Moss and DeAngelo Hall have done it in the past, but it can be risky to have a top offensive or defensive player double as a return man.

Rookies Chris Thompson and Skye Dawson will also get a shot.

Coach Mike Shanahan joked Monday that he had 14 players returning punts at practice in search of a suitable candidate.
