Pistorius in court...Hoosiers still No. 1...Montgomery gets slap on the wrist

PRETORIA, South Africa (QAP) -- Oscar Pistorius (pihs-TOHR'-ee-uhs) made a court appearance today in Pretoria, South Africa. The double-amputee Olympic athlete was charged with premeditated murder of his girlfriend. Pistorius says he shot model Reeva Steenkamp through a closed bathroom door thinking she was a robber.

BERKELEY, Calif. (AP) -- The Pac-12 has reprimanded Mike Montgomery for shoving one of his players in the chest during Sunday's night's win over Southern California but won't suspend the California basketball coach for the incident. Montgomery downplayed the run-in immediately after the game but later issued an apology through the school.

BRADENTON, Fla. (AP) -- Manti Te'o (MAN'-ty TAY'-oh) tells USA Today that he doesn't believe the online hoax that fooled him will affect his stock in the upcoming NFL draft. The former Notre Dame linebacker also says he has shut down his Twitter account and isn't sure if he will ever use social media again. Te'o is preparing to participate in this week's NFL combine.

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) -- Victoria Azarenka (ah-zah-REN'-kuh) has pulled out of the Dubai Championship, citing a bone bruise in her right foot. Azarenka is the second seed after losing the No. 1 ranking to Serena Williams at the start of the week.
