NEW YORK (AP) -- The NFL is looking into Tom Brady's leg-up slide that hit Ravens safety Ed Reed in the AFC championship game. Reed already has said Brady has apologized for the move and doesn't believe the Patriots QB was trying to hurt him in any way.

CHICAGO (AP) -- The struggling Los Angeles Lakers have juggled their starting lineup, moving forward Pau Gasol (pow gah-SOHL') to a reserve role and replacing him with Earl Clark. Coach Mike D'Antoni made the move before tonight's game against the Chicago Bulls, one of four games on the NBA slate.

NEWARK, N.J. (AP)-- The Philadelphia Flyers are trying to avoid an 0-3 start in their abbreviated 48-game NHL schedule as they visit the Prudential Center to play the New Jersey Devils. That's one of nine games on tonight's NHL slate.

ST. LOUIS (AP) -- Reliever Jason Motte (math) and the St. Louis Cardinals have agreed to a $12 million, two-year contract, avoiding salary arbitration. The 30-year-old right-hander had a career year with 42 saves in 49 chances last season.
