CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP) -- Virginia defensive tackle Chris Brathwaite had been declared ineligible and is no longer enrolled at the university. Cavaliers coach Mike London made the announcement Wednesday. He says he's disappointed, but that Brathwaite "did not make the commitment he needed to succeed off the football field."

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) -- Andrew Smith scored 15 points, Kellen Dunham added 11 and Butler used a stifling defense to pull away from Richmond for a 62-47 victory in its first Atlantic 10 Conference home game Wednesday night. Butler, which has won 12 straight overall, was without leading scorer Rotnei Clarke due to a severely sprained neck.

DURHAM, N.C. (AP) -- Elizabeth Williams scored 20 points to keep Duke unbeaten with a 58-26 rout of Virginia Tech on Wednesday night. The Blue Devils, who are the only undefeated team left in Division I basketball, have won 18 straight in the series, the last eight all by double digits.

WILMINGTON, N.C. (AP) -- Keith Rendleman and Chris Dixon scored 14 points each as UNC Wilmington defeated Old Dominion 65-60 Wednesday night in a Colonial Athletic Association game that had 10 lead changes and eight ties. The Seahawks, who trailed 35-28 early in the second half, went ahead to stay, 50-49, on a free throw by Rendleman with 5:25 remaining.
