Hamilton Tiger-Cats fire coach George Cortez

HAMILTON, Ontario (AP) -- George Cortez was fired as the Hamilton Tiger-Cats' head coach and director of football operations Tuesday.
Cortez was 6-12 in his only season with the Canadian Football League team. He joined the Tiger-Cats in January after two seasons as the Buffalo Bills' quarterbacks coach.
The Tiger-Cats also said Bob O'Billovich, the team's vice president of football operations, has been offered a position within the organization as a consultant to the president and the football operations staff.
