NEW YORK (AP) -- Comments on the Seattle Seahawks by the AP Pro32 panel (ranking in parentheses):
___
SEATTLE SEAHAWKS (8)
Chris Berman (ESPN, 8) -- Shutouts are hard to get. Scoring 58 points is hard to do. Did both in one game.
Clifton Brown (Sporting News, 4) -- It's not just about Russell Wilson. This team is solid and physical.
Cris Collinsworth (NBC Sports, 10)
Rich Gannon (CBS Sports/SiriusXM NFL Radio, 9) -- Winners of four of their last five and playing complimentary football as evidenced by their shellacking of the Cards.
Bob Glauber (Newsday, 10) -- It's like Pete Carroll is back at USC beating up on Washington State. Seahawks absolutely pummel Cardinals 58-0, only 11 points from equaling Carroll's most lopsided win in college.
Rick Gosselin (Dallas Morning News, 10) -- Every opening-day starting quarterback in the NFL has passed for 300 yards in a game this season except one -- rookie Russell Wilson of the Seahawks.
Clark Judge (CBSSports.com, 9) -- Don't look now, but the Seahawks may be positioning themselves for a run at the NFC West championship.
Ira Kaufman (Tampa Tribune, 8) -- Nobody's more physical on both sides of the ball than Pete Carroll's marauders.
Pat Kirwan (SiriusXM NFL Radio/CBSSports.com, 7) -- The Seahawks are one nasty team that plays for 60 minutes. Rookie QB Russell Wilson has 20 touchdown passes and they just shut out an NFL team 58-0.
John Lynch (Fox Sports, 9) -- This team continues to impress! How about forcing eight turnovers and rushing for 284 yards in crushing the Cardinals 58-0.
Alex Marvez (Foxsports.com, 10) -- The NFL's best home-field advantage this season was on display once again as the Seahawks waxed Arizona, 58-0.
Dan Pompei (Chicago Tribune, 10) -- They are starting to have the look of a team you would not want to be playing in January.
