NEW YORK (AP) -- Comments on the New York Jets by the AP Pro32 panel (ranking in parentheses):
NEW YORK JETS (20)
Chris Berman (ESPN, 23) -- Are they really in the hunt?
Clifton Brown (Sporting News, 25) -- Doubt if they make the playoffs. Who will they beat if they get in?
Cris Collinsworth (NBC Sports, 21)
Rich Gannon (CBS Sports/SiriusXM NFL Radio, 21) -- 9-7 a real possibility when you look at what's ahead.
Bob Glauber (Newsday, 22) -- Could the Jets recover enough after Mark Sanchez's infamous "butt fumble" to make the playoffs? Not out of the question if the Jets win out.
Rick Gosselin (Dallas Morning News, 19) -- The Jets have the only defense in the NFL that has not allowed an individual 100-yard receiver yet this season.
Clark Judge (CBSSports.com, 21) -- Please sit down before I tell you this: The New York Jets ... are ... still ... alive ... for ... the ... playoffs. That's what happens when you draw a second-half schedule of stiffs.
Ira Kaufman (Tampa Tribune, 20) -- No margin for error, and they make a lot of 'em.
Pat Kirwan (SiriusXM NFL Radio/CBSSports.com, 19) -- Mark Sanchez is now 19-16 on the road in his career which includes 4-2 in road playoff games, yet he gets little to no respect in New York. Give the 26-year-old QB a break and his team is still in the playoff race with three winnable games left.
John Lynch (Fox Sports, 24) -- Believe it or not, the Jets are still in the playoff hunt. Amazing.
Alex Marvez (Foxsports.com, 18) -- The offense is painful to watch, but two straight wins have the Jets still in postseason contention.
Dan Pompei (Chicago Tribune, 18) -- The fact that they may be a playoff team does not speak well to the quality of the AFC this year.
