Dwyane Wade scored 22 points, LeBron James finished two assists shy of a triple-double and the Heat improved to 4-0 at home for the first time in franchise history by beating the Brooklyn Nets 103-73. James had 20 points and 12 rebounds in only 30 minutes. Kyle Korver sparked an Atlanta 18-0 run, eliminating a 14 point defecit in the fourth quarter. The Hawks beat the Indiana Pacers at home 89-86.
CHORLEY, England (AP) -- Tour de France champion Bradley Wiggins is spending the night at a hospital in Northern England. He was hit by a car while riding his bike. Team Sky says Wiggins' injuries are not thought to be serious and he should make a full and speedy recovery.
NEW YORK (AP) -- Negotiations between the NHL and the locked-out players' association ended after nearly six hours Wednesday night. Just as they did a night earlier, the sides agreed to get right back to the bargaining table. Representatives for the owners and players will resume talks Thursday, marking the third straight day they will meet face-to-face.
HARRISON, N.J. (AP) -- The second leg of the Major League Soccer Eastern Conference semifinals between D.C. United and the New York Red Bulls had to be postponed because of snow. After a delay of about one hour due to the Nor'Easter that blanketed the area with snow, the match was rescheduled for Thursday night. The Houston Dynamo held off Sporting Kansas City 1-0 to move on to the Eastern Conference finals.
INDIAN WELLS, Calif. (AP) -- Major League Baseball is considering a broader expansion of video review for umpires. Instant replay in baseball began in August 2008 and has been limited to checking whether potential home runs were fair or cleared over fences. Major League Baseball Commissioner Bud Selig has been saying since early 2011 he wants to expand it to two additional types of calls, trap plays and fair or foul balls. Baseball is also considering a change to its longtime rule allowing active rosters to expand from 25 to 40 from Sept. 1 through the rest of the regular season.
