ASHBURN, Va. - Free agent safety Madieu Williams has agreed to a one-year deal with the Washington Redskins.
The Redskins on Tuesday also signed cornerback Leigh Torrence and re-signed defensive lineman Kedric Golston.
Williams plans to sign his contract Wednesday. He went to college at Maryland and has played in eight NFL seasons with Cincinnati, Minnesota and San Francisco. He's been a starter for much of his career, but last season he started only three games with the 49ers and had just four tackles and no interceptions.
Torrence is a career backup who returns for his second stint with the Redskins. He played in Washington from 2006-08 and spent the last four years with New Orleans.
Golston is back for his seventh season in Washington. He's been recovering from a knee injury.
