Orioles host ALCS Friday, Saturday vs. Royals

BALTIMORE (AP) — The Baltimore Orioles’ run at a World Series berth resumes Friday at Camden Yards.

The Orioles locked up home-field advantage in the next round of the playoffs when the upstart Kansas City Royals knocked off the Los Angeles Angels late Sunday night.

That means the American League Championship Series begins Friday in Baltimore, with Game 2 in Baltimore on Saturday.

Major League Baseball has not yet announced game times.

The Orioles plan to place tickets for the series on sale Thursday at noon through their website, though only a few scattered seats are expected to be available through that sale.

The Orioles haven’t been to the World Series since 1983. They advanced to the pennant series Sunday after completing a sweep of Detroit.
