WARSAW, Poland (AP) - UEFA has charged Denmark forward Nicklas Bendtner with improper conduct for revealing an unofficial sponsor's name on his underwear while celebrating a goal at the European Championship.
UEFA says Bendtner is suspected of breaking Law 4 of soccer regarding a player's uniform and equipment. The European soccer governing association says its disciplinary panel will deal with the case on Monday.
Bendtner lifted his shirt and lowered his shorts slightly, revealing the name of a betting firm across the top of his briefs, after scoring his second goal in a 3-2 loss against Portugal on Wednesday.
UEFA tournament rules for Euro 2012 also bar any sponsor advertising on a player's uniform.
On Friday, Bendtner flashed the top of his new, regulation-friendly black brief at practice.
Bendtner got a dressing down Thursday from the Danish Football Association, which has official ties to a rival gambling company.
