CLEMSON, S.C. - Virginia has claimed its third straight Atlantic Coast Conference rowing championship.
The Cavaliers won their 12th title in 13 years Saturday by edging host Clemson in the day's final race _ the First Varsity Eight.
Virginia finished with 56 points, followed by Clemson (52), Duke (39), Boston College (27), North Carolina (18) and Miami (17).
Virginia coach Kevin Sauer was named the league's coach of the year for the third year in a row. Miami's Hannah Hawks was named the league's top rookie by a vote of the coaches.
