HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) — Republican Dan Bongino is highlighting his views on immigration and economic policy in his campaign to unseat Rep. John Delaney in Maryland’s 6th Congressional District.

The former Secret Service agent told a Hagerstown business audience Thursday that the only path to citizenship he favors for those living in the United States illegally is the naturalization process his Colombian wife followed.

Delaney says immigration reform should create a path to citizenship for those already here.

Bongino says corporate tax reduction is essential for job growth in the region. He says he’ll never vote to raise taxes if elected.

Delaney says refusal to compromise is what’s wrong with Congress. He says everything he does is on a bipartisan basis, including his bill to rebuild America’s roads and bridges through a public-private partnership.
