RICHMOND, Va. (AP) -- Four Republicans are vying to be the party's nominee for a U.S. Senate seat representing Virginia.
The Republican Party of Virginia says the candidates are Ed Gillespie of Alexandria, Anthony "Tony" DeTora of Fredericksburg, Wayshak "Shak" Hill of Centreville and Charles "Chuck" Moses of Nokesville.
Gillespie is a former Republican National Committee chairman, former lobbyist and onetime aide to President George W. Bush.
DeTora is a senior policy adviser for a member of Congress.
Hill is a financial planning consultant and retired Air Force pilot.
Moses owns a small network consulting business.
The filing deadline was Saturday.
The GOP will choose its nominee at a convention in Roanoke in early June. The Republican nominee will challenge incumbent Democratic U.S. Sen. Mark Warner.
